Social protection accounts in France and Europe

In France, 2011 was a second year of moderate growth (+2.0%) before the stagnation of gross domestic product in 2012, amid a recession in the European Union. Social protection seems to play its role as an economic shock absorber in Europe less well, due to the sustainability of the crisis and the reduction of social spending in some countries to balance their budgets.
