Assignments of medical students at the end of the national class tests

*Source: Dres, Studies and Results N°852* *Authors: Pascal GODEFROY (Drees), Odile ROMAIN, Séverine BUISINE and Pierre LAURENT (CNG)* At the end of the 2012 national ranking tests (ECN), 7,207 students entered postgraduate medical studies for the first time. Of the list of posts opened by speciality and territorial subdivision established by the public authorities, 97 % were filled, instead of about 90 % in previous years, thanks in particular to a reform adopted in 2011 to reduce the inadequacy rate at the end of the NCAs. Only 251 posts remained vacant in 2012, compared with 685 in 2011. In general medicine, 95 per cent of open posts were filled, compared with 84 per cent in 2011.
