Statistics on mobile antennas in France
Description
The mobile market has exploded in recent years mainly since the policies of non-binding offerings, initially launched by [free mobile](http://mobile.free.fr/docs/tarifs.pdf) in January 2012, and the constant evolution of phones which are now real advanced portable terminals.
Subscribers now need to have access to the internet, via their phone, everywhere and with a quality speed (broadband offers for mobile are on the 4G network launched by Bouygues in the last quarter of 2013).
The published dataset represents the **mapping of relay antennas** in France and in the DOM TOM (UMTS/GSM/LTE).
Each of the sites (*supports that can receive 1 or more antennas, from different operators*) that have been the subject of an authorisation to issue **ARCEP ** is identified and categorised by department.
The limit of this antenna base is that by support, we do not know accurately the number of active antennas or not (as a rule they are, but it is not systematic).
A ** observatory ** of mobile antennas presents in textual and graphical format some indicators: active/inactive sites, number of 2G/3G/4G antennas per operator, frequencies, operators, etc...
