R & D in France as measured by the DNRD (national expenditure = financing)
Description
R & D in France is also estimated by MESR surveys from the point of view of its financing (excluding taxes), regardless of the place of execution. The difference between DIRD and DNRD represents the balance of foreign transactions. In 2009 the French DNRD is a little stronger than the DIRD (+ EUR 1 125 million) which means that R & D carried out in France is less financed by abroad than what France itself finances for R & D outside its borders.For Defence the corresponding expenditure is either financed and executed within the Defence Administration (DIRDD), or financed by it and executed by third parties, companies or civil public research laboratories.
