Description

A country is a project territory characterised by "geographical, economic, cultural or social cohesion; a place of collective action that brings together municipalities, associations of municipalities, socio-professional organisations, companies, associations, etc. around a common development project; a privileged level of partnership and contractualisation that facilitates the coordination of community, state and European initiatives in support of local development.The Urbanism and Habitat Act of 2 July 2003 frames the procedure for the constitution of a country. The municipalities and groups concerned, in association with a development council, draw up the sustainable development project of the country. They deliberated to approve the project and the perimeter of the country. It is the agreement of the elected representatives on the joint project that is the foundation of the country. The perimeter of the country is therefore the result of the project and not a prerequisite.
