Location of service activities and vulnerability of territories
Description
The removal of barriers to trade and the development of new information and communication technologies should lead to increased international trade in services. This study aims to measure the impact that this intensification would have on French territories. Currently, only half of the service sectors are traded. However, we believe that most service sectors are exchangeable in the sense that their places of production and consumption can be differentiated. Only certain local services (retail trade, personal services) and services of public prerogatives (administration, education, etc.) remain non-exchangeable.
