Description
The files list for the years 2012 to 2022 the municipalities of your department with a municipal police service and contain:
- the number of municipal police officers,
- the number of guards on public roads,
- the number of field guards,
- the number of master dogs and municipal police patrol dogs.
For the year 2019 is also included the list of municipalities or EPCI with an armed municipal police service.
Municipal police are governed by Book V of the Internal Security Code, the General Code of Local Authorities and the Code of Criminal Procedure, which have defined their organization and operation. Under the authority of the mayors, municipal police officers have administrative police powers and certain judicial police powers defined by law, which they exercise under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
