The motivations for retirement
Description
The new retirees of the CNAV who retired between June 2008 and July 2009 were asked in February 2010 about the main motivations for their departure and their knowledge of incentives to continue their activity.The survey is the result of a collaboration between the CNAV, COR, DARES, DG Treasury, DREES and DSS. 3,000 people were interviewed by telephone in February and March 2010 among the 678,000 new retirees residing in France who paid their pension under direct entitlement under the general scheme (CNAV) between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009. The procedures for drawing the sample and the weightings applied to the results ensure that the respondents are representative in relation to the total population of new CNAV retirees, particularly in terms of their situation at the time of departure: age, status of activity on the eve of retirement, situation vis-à-vis the full rate.
