Serious adverse events in health facilities: frequency, avoidability and acceptability
Description
The 2009 National Survey of Serious Adverse Events Associated with Healthcare Care (ENEIS) allows to measure the frequency of serious undesirable events (SAEs) occurring during hospitalisation, to estimate the proportion of hospital stays caused by an SEE, and to assess the share of avoidability of these SEEs.The ENEIS survey data were collected between April and June 2009 from a representative sample of 251 surgical and medical services, based on 8,269 patient stays and 31,663 days of hospitalisation.
