The perinatal situation in France in 2010 — First results of the national perinatal survey
Description
National Perinatal Surveys (ENPs) contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of perinatal plans. They were held at regular intervals in 1995, 1998, 2003 and 2010.They collect information on children’s health status, sociodemographic status of women, perinatal care and risk factors, from a representative sample of all births during a given week. The questionnaire is completed by an investigator (often a midwife) who questions the woman and collects data from the medical file on the pathologies of pregnancy, the course of childbirth and the state of the child. The 2010 survey took place from 15 to 21 March 2010 in all metropolitan maternity wards and in three overseas departments (Guadeloupe, French Guiana and Reunion).The sample includes 14,903 births, including 14,761 live births, 440 gemella births and three triple births, for 14,681 women.
