France is equipped with a network of thousands of geodetic points and leveling marks referred to by surveyors, architects, topographers, local planners, to precisely calibrate their projects.
IGN acts as a federator for contributors to the network. He is responsible for the dissemination and archiving of all the data collected as well as for the reference of the stations composing the network.
