Distances and access time to care in metropolitan France
Description
State of play of spatial accessibility to care in metropolitan France, carried out on 1 January 2007. Spatial accessibility is measured by estimating for each municipality the distances by the nearest road of access to care.The databases available to analyse the distances of access to care are multiple and specific to the field concerned, city care or hospital care. For city care, the data are extracted from the National Inter-Scheme Information System of the National Fund for Sickness Insurance for Employees (Sniiram). They make it possible to count liberal health professionals who have had a liberal activity in the year. For hospital care, an innovative methodology for tracing and geolocation of hospital specialties from the Medical Information Systems Programme (PMSI) files, the Annual Health Institution Statistics (ASS) and the National Health and Social Establishments File (FINESS) has been defined.For heavy equipment, SAE and Sniiram data have been mobilised.
