Deployment of very high-speed networks throughout the national territory
Description
This report presents the various scenarios for the widespread deployment of very high-speed broadband and the necessary investments, and opens up avenues for reflection on the financing arrangements. Its main conclusions: 1. Without public support, only 25 % to 40 % of the population will have very high speed; 2. Drive the fiber to every home and every business costs EUR 30 billion; 3. Combining complementary technologies makes it possible to cover the territory at the best cost; 4. Simultaneously treating urban and rural spaces is essential 5. Support and funding mechanisms for the realisation of this infrastructure need to be devised.
