Census of cultural immovable property
Description
Situation of buildings identified by the Cultural Property Service, updated according to census revisions. Buildings, old or contemporary, which are important as a witness of spiritual activity, artistic creation and social life, are recorded in a census drawn up by the canton. The census is intended to provide information to the owner and the authorities responsible for the protection of cultural property. This census also includes the situation of protected buildings in the local development plan. Buildings protected by a measure taken in the local development plan or by a measure independent of the plan are included in an inventory drawn up by the State. The inventory is kept by the Cultural Property Department for the Culture Service. Three categories of protection are defined: category 1 (in principle A value in the census), category 2 (in principle value B) and category 3 (in principle value C).
