REDIAM. WMS HIC 9260-0 Ancient forests of Castanea sativa
Description
WMS service corresponding to the non-priority Habitat of Community Interest 9260_0, defined for forest formations dominated by chestnut (Castanea sativa), generally coming from old plantations, under which an understory of own plants and characteristics of the potential forests that would occupy the territory where they settle and where there are processes of natural or semi-natural regeneration of the vegetation develops. At present, these forests may or may not be in exploitation, both for the production of wood and for fruit, but the management must allow the maintenance of the forest as a whole. The tree chestnut cover can vary between 30 and 100% of the occupation of the territory, but there must always be a shrub stratum of forest species.
