Description
The forest is immovable property owned by one or more landowners. It is most often characterised by plant formation consisting of trees and shrubs, and considered by the NFB as the spatial unit of reference for forest management and implementation of sustainable management. The NFB is a forest manager by law (forest scheme) or contractual.
The forest represents the territorial unit of reference for management.
The classification of forests is usually:
* state forest
* communal forest
* military forest
* sectional forests,
* forests of regions or departments,
* other (private forests managed by the NFB as part of the commercial service)
