Employees

Description

How many supplementary pensions are paid by employees? About 41 % of all salaried affiliates constituted only reserves acquired in one or more sectoral plans. 33 % of employee affiliates made up only the reserves acquired in one or more business plans. 17 % of all employee affiliates combine a business plan and a sector plan. Members with only pension rights in a business plan have the highest acquired average reserve of EUR 31.770. For both men and women, the 36-45 age group has the highest number of salaried members (over 1.000.000). About 58 % of salaried affiliates are under 45 years of age. In each age group, there are more men than women. The average reserve for all employees is EUR 18.346, the median pension reserve is EUR 2.520. The interquintile ratio S80/S20 measures inequality and shows the ratio between the average acquired reserve of the 20 % of members with the highest acquired reserves (S80) and that of the 20 % of members with the lowest acquired reserves (S20). An S80/S20 of 10 means that the amount of the average reserve acquired of the 20 % members with the highest reserve is 10 times higher than that of the 20 % members with the lowest pension reserve. This ratio is calculated by age group and gender; people over the age of 65 are not taken into account.
