Historical Map Langenthal BE (1854)
Description
The dataset contains the sheet Langenthal of the map of Johann Heinrich Denzler on a scale of 1:25,000. The entire map contains 42 sheets and is kept at Swisstopo in Bern. In 1854, a contract was concluded between the Canton of Bern and the Confederation, whereupon the surveying work began in 1854. Surveying in the canton of Bern proved to be extremely difficult. Above all, a uniform recording quality was difficult to achieve. The contents of the map are printed in 4 colours (black, brown, red and blue) and reach up to the cantonal border.
