Helsinki’s town plans as a common information resource. Final report of the Kiradigi project.

Description

A project carried out by the City of Helsinki (6.6.2017-1.6.2018) developed a digital data model that makes it easier to process plan data. In the current state, the extraction, processing and transfer of plan data in different phases of the plan involves both file management and the transfer of data that can be interpreted by eyes for further use. Further processing is not only laborious, but also contains the potential for errors or misinterpretation. By developing design data, the interoperability and readability of data can be ensured in real time, regardless of the phase of the plan process. The purpose of the project is to develop the information management of town plans so that the information serves as much as possible all phases of land use planning and improves the interoperability of information in terms of concepts, structures, technical distribution and revision management. The aim of the development of data management is to obtain the life cycle of land use information from the perspective of all parties involved and to enable the utilisation of high-quality and reliable information through technically modern open interfaces throughout the entire value chain of land use planning, construction and maintenance.
