Sampling areas for the INTEMARES submarine canyon system from Cabo Tiñoso to Cabo de Palos
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the areas prospected in the LIFE IP INTEMARES project campaigns in the Underwater Cannon System from Cabo Tiñoso to Cabo de Palos.
The study area comprises part of the continental slope south of Murcia and east and southeast of Alicante and Murcia, including SAC ES6200048.
It is a data set composed of four polygonal elements, one for each campaign, representing the area prospected in each campaign:
1) INTEMARES-MURCIA0118
2) INTEMARES-A22-MU-0819
3) INTEMARES-A22M-0720
4) INTEMARES-A22MU-0820
Each object has associated a series of alphanumeric variables such as the area and the minimum and maximum depth.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
This work has been financed through the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
