Wildlife corridors with wildlife barriers and wildlife structures

Description

The Confederation and the cantons are obliged by international conventions and national laws to ensure the permeability of the landscape for wildlife. Many wildlife corridors today are severely limited or even interrupted in their function. Wildlife corridors cover the most important areas for the large-scale migration of wild animals and for the networking of their core and partial habitats. Mobility is so important for wildlife because it serves seasonal migration and genetic exchange between populations, as well as enabling new areas to be populated.
