Flooding - Water depth with extreme precipitation urban (2018)

Description

This map shows the result of a stress test for the urban area of South Holland. The map provides insight into where flooding is likely to occur after an extreme shower of 100 millimeters in 2 hours. The stress test of the urban area was carried out with 2D terrain models (3Di) built from the filtered and interpolated General Altitude Map Netherlands (AHN2 and AHN3), information on land use (for friction) and on soil (for infiltration). The resolution of the results is 0.25 m2. Integral models have been used for the urban area for various municipalities in which the sewer system is also included (turn on the model information layer and click on the map for additional information). For buildings (source: BAG) has assumed a floor level of 15 cm above ground level in the terrain model. The flooding of buildings via thresholds is not included, because detailed information of threshold height is still missing.
