Residual household waste; Separation by municipality
Description
This table provides figures on the amount and composition of waste resulting from the post-separation of residual household waste collected by municipalities and presented at a waste treatment plant with a post-separation facility. Municipalities receive this data from the waste processor, who often processes the waste from several municipalities. For example, they report distributions to the municipalities. Data are available on residual waste fractions presented for post-separation, the fractions recovered from this residual waste and the residual waste remaining after post-separation and incinerated.
Under 'type of waste', the fractions are shown both collectively ('household waste') and by location in the post-separation process ('post-separation into species'). Municipalities that do not do post-separation have no values in the table (blank).
With the exception of the residual waste that is incinerated, waste resulting from post-separation can be further processed in other processing processes into a new waste or into a so-called secondary raw material that can be used in new products. These further steps are not described in this table.
