Description

This table gives an overview of the production of electricity in the Netherlands, the fuels and other energy sources used for that purpose and the use of installations. Electricity is obtained by: conversion of fuels such as natural gas, coal and fuel oil; from solar and wind energy and through the use of hydropower. There are data on the production of electricity, the heat released, the use of fuels, renewable energy carriers and the installed capacity, broken down by cogeneration plants (CHP) and installations producing electricity only. Finally, a distinction is made between central and decentralised production of electricity and heat, with the decentralised production being broken down by business group. Data available from: 1998 Status of the figures: Figures up to 2021 are final. Figures for 2022 are more preliminary. Amendments as of 24 November 2023: The figures for the years 2015-2020 have been revised. Final figures have been added for 2021, further provisional figures have been added for 2022. The revisions relate to the introduction of an improved analytical methodology in 2022, which has been reverted to previous years. Furthermore, data from a limited number of companies have been revised on the basis of new insights. The adjustments are generally small, the adjustment of the total production and use of the various energy carriers is less than 1 percent in all years. When will there be new figures?
