Reduction of greenhouse gases in agriculture.
Description
In this report, scenarios were used to examine which measures can be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. Two scenarios “with existing measures (WEM)” and “with additional measures (WAM)” have been developed for this purpose. The WAM scenario takes into account, among other things, the current status of planned measures within the framework of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) for Austria. Based on this, two further scenarios (WAM+ and WAM++) were developed with specific measures to reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions by 30 % (WAM+) and 40 % (WAM++) respectively. In addition to the effect on greenhouse gas emissions, the economic effects of the scenarios were also analysed. The results serve as a basis for the NECP.
