Halt young people from 12 to 18 years; crime group, personal characteristics, 2005-2022
Description
This table provides information on the number of young people per population group who have had a Halt condition (the so-called Halt young people). Halt is a measure that ensures that young people do not come into direct contact with the Justice after committing light crime, but are confronted with the consequences of their actions. A penalty at Halt lasts 2 to 20 hours and can consist of several things: community service, apprenticeship, apologies and/or, if necessary, compensation.
The table shows how many young people have had Halt treatment per type of crime. Classifications are made by gender, age and origin. These figures are rounded to the nearest tens. A young person who has been referred to Halt more than once is only counted once in the table.
