Technical description:
Description of the temporarily secured flooding areas of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
Legal background:
The Water Resources Act (WHG) in the version of 31 July 2009 contains the obligation to identify, determine and notify flood zones (ÜSG). The OTCs required by the recast of the WHG for Hamburg in addition to the already existing areas were presented in maps and announced to the public. As a result, they are “provisionally secured” until formal determination by statutory regulation and the same safeguards as those in designated areas apply here.
