Natural gas balance; supply and consumption
Description
This table shows the supply and consumption of natural gas in a balanced form. The calculation of the offer is as follows: extraction from the soil plus production from other sources plus imports minus exports minus the supply of natural gas to vessels sailing abroad (bunkering) plus changes in stocks. The supply is equal to the amount of natural gas consumed in the Netherlands in the same period. This consumption is further broken down according to the method of delivery via the gas network. This consists of a main transport network linked to the regional networks. The large consumers get gas directly from the main transport network. These are the power plants and large companies. Small consumers, including households, receive natural gas through the regional networks. In addition, there is a heading of natural gas consumption in extraction and transport. Finally, there is a small post of the flared or vented natural gas.

From 1946 per year and from 1982 per year, per quarter and per month.
Status of figures:
- until 2021 final;
- 2022 and 2023 are further provisional;
- 2024 are provisional.

Imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) are broken down by country of origin per reporting year 2021. The figures for 2021 have been revised and are now in line with the most recent insights.

When will there be new figures?
Provisional figures: half a month after the end of the reporting period.
Further preliminary figures: no later than June of the year following the reporting year.
Final figures: by December of the second year following the reporting year.
