Vector Geological Map of Umbria Region

The vector geological mapping of the Umbria Region was completed in 2012 using the originals of the 1/10,000 scale geological maps produced by the Geological and Seismic Service through various projects.
The need for coordination between geological maps, including those of different projects, has sometimes necessitated changes to the original authorship of the geological maps in order to achieve homogenisation of the geological elements.
The different levels of information displayed in the form of points, lines and polygons representing:
- Geological mapping units and lithologies;
- Geomorphological and anthropogenic elements (e.g. terrace edges, anthropogenic reports);
- Structural elements (e.g. faults, anticlinals, synclinals);
- Geological observation points (e.g. stratum deposits);
- Geological and geophysical traces.
Geological mapping for Google EarthTM

Geological mapping in kmz format is derived from the vector geological map of the Umbria Region and is divided into 265 sections of regional technical map at a scale of 1/10,000 making up the entire regional territory.
