Description
Infiltration means that water penetrates the soil and is added to groundwater through the unsaturated zone of the soil. Infiltration is a key factor in the water supply of agriculture and the supply of drinking water. In addition, infiltration plays an important role in the storage of water in case of abundant rainfall. The infiltration map provides information on the possibility and degree of infiltration of water (precipitation) in a given area. The infiltration map can be seen at a glance where there are opportunities for infiltration of precipitation in Zeeland.
