Historical map Solothurn (1832)
Description
The dataset contains one of a total of 4 maps of the canton of Solothurn from 1832. The scale is 1:16'000. The map is located over the Aare Valley and the Jura to the north of it. The leading geometer of these maps was Josef Walker. He was trained by Dufour and was commissioned by the Solothurn government in 1928 to create this map. The work lasted 4 years and was completed in 1832. The original card was printed in two frames (black and green) on yellowish paper. No elevation curves but hatchings have been applied. The exposure is vertical, so the relief is not clearly visible. The Jurassic chains are represented by a narrow white ridge. The original map was scanned and georeferenced by the AGIS coordination.
