Cemeteries and Cemeteries (WMS)
Description
The service displays information from the database of operated or undisturbed cemeteries and burial sites in the Czech Republic. The geographical object “the cemetery” was taken from the Zabaged application, including the calculated area and GPS. With the legal concept of a burial place, the situation is more complex. This is a partial output of research by the Ministry of Regional Development (MMR) for the needs of regions from the priority Problems of Regional and Local Administrations, which was carried out in 2004-2006 by the Department of Pastoral Fields of the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague. An overview of public and non-public burial sites in the Czech Republic was published in a book published by Vyšehrad publishing house in 2006, in which the method of data collection was described. The publication was circulated to the regional authorities, through which the database on the MMR continues to be updated and supplemented, although this activity is not supported by Act No. 256/2001 Coll., on Funeral Licensing (ZP) or in a government resolution or in a decision of the Minister for Regional Development. Supervision of the municipality in the area of operation of a public burial site is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior, supervision of the activities of the church and religious society in the area of the cultivation of a non-public burial site is carried out by the competent regional authority in accordance with Section 28 of the ZP. The term “operated and undisturbed burial ground” is crucial for the entire work. Without missing definitions, it is impossible to identify which burial site may be missing in the database. The cemeteries are operated by the operator according to ZP. For the purposes of the central database of burial sites, it is such a space (including non-public Jewish cemeteries, church crypts, columbarian walls around altars and above-ground aristocratic tombs outside cemeteries) which is located on at least one plot, which has a use as a cemetery or urn grove in the extract from the land register.
