Analysis of priority pathways to contain invasive alien species.

Description

This report analyses and prioritises the non-intentional pathways of introduction and spread of the 88 species of animal and plant species of Union concern under EU Regulation 1143/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the ‘prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species’ for Austria. ‘pathways’ are the pathways and mechanisms of introduction and spread of invasive alien species. ‘Priority pathways’ are those pathways that require priority action due to the species volume or potential damage caused by the species entering Austria via these pathways. As a next step, the measures developed in the Pathway Action Plan pursuant to Article 13 of the EU Regulation will be reviewed on the priority paths and, if necessary, revised.
