Bodemerodibility (K-factor)
Description
The soil erosion sensitivity factor or soil erosion sensitivity factor K (ton.h.MJ-1.mm-1) shall reflect the degree of intrinsic soil erosion sensitivity. The K-factor is used in soil erosion modelling in the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) and is determined by different soil properties, of which soil texture and organic matter content are the most important. When drawing up the soil erosion sensitivity map or soil erodibility map (K-map), only the soil texture was used to determine the K-factor. The organic matter content was not taken into account because Flanders does not have area-wide data on the organic matter content. The spatial resolution of this data layer is 5 m.
