Official Register of Professional Operators - RUOP (formerly Official Register of Producers - RUP)
Description
The RUOP is a national register (RUOP) of professional operators (OP) established by Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 and maintained by the Regional Phytosanitary Services.
Starting from 14 December 2019, RUOP replaces the Official Register of Producers (RUP) provided for by previous phytosanitary legislation.
The registration to the RUOP is unique in the national territory, the registration number includes the two-letter code established by the ISO standard
for the Italian State (IT), the ISTAT code of the Region where the Operator’s registered office is located, plus a 4-digit number assigned automatically at the time of registration.
A professional operator (PO) means an entity that professionally carries out one or more activities of planting, breeding, production, cultivation, propagation, making available on the market, storage and movement within the territory of the Union and in third countries of plants, parts of plants, plant products and other objects and is legally responsible for them.
