Monitor of settlement and open space development
Description
The Monitor of Settlement and Free Space Development (IÖR Monitor) is a scientific service provided by the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development (IÖR). It provides information on land structure and its development for the Federal Republic of Germany. As a specialised information system on land cover and land use, it is aimed at science, administration, business and the public. It complements official area statistics and environmental economic accounts with basic information for the assessment of land development, in particular with regard to their sustainability. The IÖR Monitor is a permanent, scientific service for research-based policy and social advisory services of the IÖR. The IÖR monitor is constantly being further developed and supplemented, since 2013 also with building-based, settlement structural indicators and an interactive detail viewer based on WebGIS.
