Monitor of settlement and open space development
Description
The Monitor of Settlement and Open Space Development (IÖR-Monitor) is a scientific service of the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development (IÖR). It provides information on the area structure and its development for the Federal Republic of Germany. As a specialist information system on land cover and land use, it is aimed at science, administration, business and the public. It supplements the official land statistics and the environmental economic accounts with basic information for the assessment of land development, in particular with regard to its sustainability. The IOER Monitor is a permanent, scientific service of the research-based policy and social consulting of the IOER. The IÖR monitor is constantly being further developed and supplemented, since 2013 also with building-based, settlement-structural indicators and an interactive detail viewer based on WebGIS.
