Amphibious train stations
Description
The inventory of amphibious stations in the Canton of Aargau includes 84 road and railway sections, which are crossed by amphibians on their migrations. For most train stations, the type and number of towing amphibians as well as the type of care and protection measures are documented. Periodic counts are carried out at some train stations during the hikes. In order to collect the data, questionnaires were sent to the train station supervisors and to local nature and bird protection associations, which provided the following information: location and length of the train station, type and population of towing amphibians, location of spawning water and summer habitat and type of train. At some train stations, the migratory animals are counted periodically. Survey period 1991 - 1992
