Description
This map of benthic stands in the Arcachon sector is based on Yves Monbet’s thesis, entitled “Bionomical study of the continental shelf off Arcachon (application of factor analysis)”, published in 1972.
This study of trawlable bottoms of the Landes and Girirondin coast off Arcachon identified 5 sedimentary areas located parallel to the coast.
The benthic stands are divided into 2 large sets, the coastal set consisting of 3 stands and the sub-coastal set of 4 stands.
The map was digitised in 2005 and harmonisation with the EUNIS typology was carried out in 2007 (REBENT project).
