Observations of Great Dolphins (Tursiops aduncus) in Western Reunion as part of the Quiétude programme
Description
Between 2017 and 2022, the association Centre d’Etude et de Découverte des Turtues Marines (CEDTM) is in charge of implementing a compensation measure for the New Route du Littoral MCM05 entitled “Improving the conditions of tranquility of marine mammals and sea turtles for the duration of the project” and financed by the Réunion Region.
As part of this programme, regular boat trips are carried out to not only list observations of marine mammals and sea turtles but also to raise awareness among sea users.
Here two layers per year of observation are available, a point layer to list all observations of the Great dolphin of the Indo-Pacific (Tursiops aduncus); a polygon layer, corresponding to a mesh of 1 km side and allowing to visualise the observations of the Great dolphin of the Indo-Pacific according to the sampling effort.
