Stop channel amphibian traction points
Description
The data set "stop channel" together with the data sets "bucket", "photo point", "guide system" and "passage" forms a clarification to the data set "amphibious traction points". It contains the stop troughs of the amphibian stations of the canton of Aargau. Stop gutters are gutters with grids above them. They are installed at the junction of side roads into the main road. The purpose of the stop troughs is that amphibians who want to cross the main road from a side street are also stopped in their endeavour. They fall through the lattice into the underlying gutter and from there follow the guidance system to the next bucket or passage. The position of the stop channels in the field was determined by recording their start and end points (recording device: GPS from Leica, System 1200, Accuracy in the forest: 1m). Based on these points, the stoppers were digitized in the office as a polyline.
