Proximity to facilities; distance location, district and neighbourhood figures 2023
Description
This table provides figures on average travel distances for residents of the Netherlands from their home address to the nearest facilities (e.g. school, general practitioner or library) for 2023. The table also includes figures on the number of facilities located within a certain distance from the residential address. These data are calculated as an average for all persons in the area.
The data are available per municipality at district and neighbourhood level, as of 1 January.
From 2022 onwards, the calculation of the distances from addresses to the (nearest) facilities has been improved: the directions of travel are then taken into account when determining routes and thus distances from addresses to the (nearest) facilities. In previous years, this did not happen or only to a limited extent.

The figures in this table are provisional. When all variables of the year are published as provisional, they are made definitive at the next publication moment thereafter.
When will there be new figures?
New figures for reporting year 2023 are expected in spring 2025.
