Description

As of 2015, long-term care is financed by several laws: the Long-term Care Act (Wlz), the Social Support Act 2015 (Wmo 2015), the Health Insurance Act and the Youth Act. Under these laws, care can be taken as care in kind or financed from a personal budget (pgb). For the use of care from a PGB, budget holders conclude agreements with care providers and declarations are submitted. This table shows the number of persons using a personal budget (pgb) for long-term care in the reporting year and at reference date, and the amount spent. This table contains only persons who have been granted a PGB and are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at the relevant time. These are PGBs that have actually been used for purchasing healthcare. The figures are broken down by gender and age on 31 December of the reporting year of the budget holder, use of the budget within and/or outside the own household and care law and sector and care weight package according to indication. The zzp of the indication is determined on the starting date of the declaration. Claims can continue if the indication has been adjusted. As a result, people can end up in multiple self-employed categories at the same time, so that the sum of the detailed data can deviate from the total. The Mental Health sector is not included in this table due to low numbers. Data available from: 2015 Status of figures: The figures for 2021 and 2022 are provisional, the figures for previous years are definitive. Changes as of 15 December 2023: Provisional figures for 2022 have been added. When will there be new figures? The provisional figures shall be published no later than 12 months after the end of the reporting year. In the event of a new publication, the figures for the previous years will be given final status.
