Persons with allocated personal budget (pgb); end of quarter
Description
This table shows the number of people who received a personal budget (pgb) at the end of the quarter by the care office for the self-purchase or hiring of long-term care. Until 2015, the number of persons who have been granted a PGB is monitored at the expense of the General Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (Algemene Wet Bijzondere Ziektekosten, AWBZ). As of 2015, long-term care is financed by several laws: the Long-term Care Act (Wlz), the Social Support Act 2015, the Health Insurance Act and the Youth Act. From 2015 onwards, this table only follows the number of persons who have been granted a PGB at the expense of the Wlz.
The PGB is a subsidy scheme whose ceiling is set annually by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The number of people who received a PGB at the end of the year is equal to the number of budget holders (PGB) at the end of the fourth quarter of the year in question.

Status of figures:
The quarterly figures for the most recent reporting year are provisional. The remaining quarterly figures are final. When the first quarter of a new reporting year is published, the figures for all previous quarters become final.
Changes as of 5 June 2024:
The provisional figure for Q1 2024 has been added. The figures for 2023 have been finalised unchanged.
When will there be new figures?
The figure for Q2 2024 will be published in Q3 2024.
