Archaeological research potential prehistory SW Delta (2022)
Description
The map 'Archeological research potential SW-Delta' shows the chance of terrestrial archaeological remains and paleo landscapes from the Stone Age within the southwestern part of the Dutch Continental Shelf (NCP) for the top 30 meters of sediment under the Norwegian seabed.
The map is for this specific part of the North Sea a more detailed and up-to-date version of 'Archeological research potential prehistory North Sea (2016)' (see related record).
A distinction has been made between material from the periods ‘early and middle Paleolithic’, ‘late Paleolithic’ and ‘Mesolithic’. Per map surface it is shown from which periods in situ or limited disturbed, or washed (residual) prehistoric remains could be present. In addition, the class ‘no prehistoric remains intact’ has been added.
