Trawl dredge sampling in Campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0220
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the samplings carried out with benthic trawl dredger during the INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0220 campaign, in the waters of the Levantine-Balearic demarcation. The results will serve to characterize the typology of rocks present in the submerged environment of the archipelago as well as the classification of the organisms present in them.
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the lines on which the acquisition of the dredge was carried out and the collection of rocks.
The area comprising the data provided is located in waters around the Columbretes Islands. In total, 4 sampling stations were carried out with benthic drag dredgers between 20 and 65 meters deep, approximately.
This information is composed of a data set formed by linear elements, where each line represents the situation of the sampling station where data were taken.
The development of this set of geographical information began in 2020, thanks to the oceanographic campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0220.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
