Functional category

Description

Describes the networked position of the road, i.e. its role as a transport broker and connecting regions. There is a basis for road numbering and signposting. The description of the functional categories can be found in section 4 of the Act on the Transport System and Roads. The operational categories are decided by decree of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The functional class of new connections shall be defined at the time of design. Amendments typically come from the regions. The operator of the road wizard is responsible for maintaining the information. The target category is not versionable. The information covers roads, rafts, ramps and streets.
