Persons with assistance; (Re)entry and exit
Description
This table shows the dynamics of the assistance. The table shows the number of inflows of persons up to the AOW pensionable age in the reporting period, including the number of persons who were reintroduced into social assistance within one year (WWB, Participatiewet), and the number of outflows of persons with social assistance benefits. The numbers are broken down by the personal characteristics gender, age, country of origin and whether or not born in the Netherlands.

Status of figures:
The figures up to 2021 are final. Figures for 2022 and 2023 are provisional.
CBS is moving to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where someone was born, in addition to where someone's parents were born. The word "migration background" is no longer used. The previously used main classification Western/non-Western will be replaced by a classification based on continents and/or common immigration countries. This has been done in this table.
Changes as of 9 July 2024:
None, this is a new table. This table is the successor of the table Persons with assistance; (re)inflows and outflows 2008-2023, see paragraph 3. Compared to the previous table, the selection variable ‘Migration background’ has been replaced by ‘Born in the Netherlands’ and ‘Country of origin’.
When will there be new figures?
New figures will come in August 2024.
