Elevation Lines and Heights NW
Description
The contours serve to depict the relief in the topographic maps, among other things. The vertical lines are derived from the digital terrain model DGM 1. The sequence of vertical lines for the scales 1: 5 000, 1: 10 000, 1: 25 000, 1: 50 000 and 1: 100 000 depends on the respective signature catalogue (SK) for the Digital Topographic Maps (DTK). The vertical lines from the layer “HL ABK” are exempted from all buildings and other higher-priority objects of the ALKIS secondary data base. The elevation lines and exemptions are updated annually. The elevation points serve to depict the relief in the topographic maps, among other things. There are special high points (at road crossings) and distinctive terrain points (coppers, troughs, saddles). In addition, there are water level heights.
