Above-ground carbon stock in nature reserves
Description
What do you see? This map shows the above-ground carbon stock recorded in the vegetation of nature reserves in the Netherlands. The map shows the nature areas in the Netherlands that fall under the subsidy scheme Nature and Landscape (SNL).
What is the value? This gives governments, nature managers and other interested parties for carbon sequestration insight into the distribution of carbon sequestration in nature. This information can be used in policy planning and other strategic planning. In addition, this map forms the basis for further studies/maps that determine potential carbon sequestration in Dutch vegetation.
For whom is this important? This map is important for policy makers, site managers and researchers involved in climate mitigation (carbon sequestration).
